Children’s Ministries Age Groups
Nursery = Infants, Crawlers, Walkers, and Talkers
Introduce these children to the Love of God through meeting some of their practical needs, and also by creating a consistently safe and caring environment.
2’s and 3’s = 2-3 year olds
Share in the joy and laughter that comes through helping these little ones learn some of the foundational stories and songs of God and His involvement in our lives.
Pre-k = 4-5 year olds
Be a part of the witness and the excitement in the eyes of these precious children as they experience and discover many spiritual truths for the very first time.
Elementary = Kindergarten-5th grade
Assist these children in the beginning steps of their spiritual journey. Be there each week to support and encourage these kids to live out the reality of Christ in their every day lives.
Potential Service Areas
Adventureland Rangers - Performs a wide variety of support functions during the weekend services that range from a computerized check-in system, new family assistance, information management, and monitoring the overall security and safety of the Children’s Ministries department. Rangers are the ones you may see wearing the yellow vests.
Cry Room Assistant - Be available to parents as they utilize the AdventureLand Cry Room. Answer questions, monitor changing supplies, and record the number of people using the room through the service.
Hour Leader - This role requires a passion and vision to shepherd the adult table leaders and utilize administrative and leadership skills to enhance class effectiveness.
Large Group Teacher - Communicates the weekly lesson through age appropriate stories, activities, and interactions. The curriculum is present and teaching times are on a rotational basis.
Resource Room Team Member - Help to resource the weekend lessons through gathering supplies, making copies, organizing activity kits, and supplying each class with the materials they need to be most effective.
Special Education Buddy - Build a relationship with an individual student and share God’s Love through weekly encouragement and assisting with various classroom situations and learning activities.
Special Events Childcare Team - Assist with childcare during various special functions throughout the year, such as baptism services, Christmas Eve, and other special church-wide events.
Small Group Table leader - Focuses on a smaller group of students. You have the opportunity to help them to relate to and interact with the daily lesson through fun games, hands-on activities, and small group discussions.
Team Member Approval Team - Have a heart to see others get involved in ministry? Join the team that connects individuals to Children’s Ministries departments, follow up on inquiries, speak with references, help connect others into areas of ministry in line with their time, treasures, and talents.
Wednesday Night Childcare - You can make it possible for parents to attend classes or to serve in other Wednesday night ministries by caring for their children. Ages range from birth to 5 years old. Involvement is throughout the fall/winter and winter/spring seasons.
Wednesday Night Clubs - Choose from a variety of clubs to assist with, which offer competitive games with Bible memorization, music, art, theatre, and other fun activities. Involvement is through the fall/winter and winter/spring seasons and summers are off.
